{[/i][/size][/color] character info } [/right][/font][/color][/size]GENERAL PERSONALITY.[/b]rin is a very head-strong and strong-willed young woman. having a rational mind, she is focused and confident in her abilities. she knows that she has great potential and uses that to her advantage, though at times she lets her pride get the better of her. because of this, some view her as arrogant or unapproachable, and her aloof personality also hinders her ability to make friends. rin is not very comfortable with opening up and "talking about her deepest feelings" unless she knows the person very well, which can make her seem as if she doesn't want to talk in general. however, she is a very good listener. it can be difficult to pin down her true opinions on matters and she can sometimes seem contradictory or hypocritical. at times she can be very blunt or brutally honest, being a very direct person in general, but it's just her way of trying to share her opinion and help without beating around the bush.
when one does take the time to warm up to rin, they earn a loyal friend. she's very protective, especially so with her pokémon, and she doesn't let anyone push them around. despite her somewhat serious approach to things, rin is actually quite lighthearted, once one gets used to her sense of humour. she can be sarcastic and ironic in her speech, poking fun at herself and life in general, and her deadpan humour can often make others laugh even if she doesn't. she's couldn't be mistaken as a cuddly type, but she's quite affectionate in her own way, expressing warmth through gently teasing or humour. overt love is something that unconsciously frightens her, hence her often cynical exterior. when it comes to romance, she becomes very shy, very different from her usual boldness.
rin has an almost powerful presence to her. she holds her body with an easy air of self-assurance and dignity, which at times can seem almost haughty. however, she attempts to keep herself in check and remains polite. she's a clear speaker and is very fastidious and precise. despite being cool and collected, rin also can be easily irritable, and those who spend a lot of time with her must learn to put up with her quick temper. one day she could be perfectly composed and roll her eyes jokingly at others' antics, while the next day they might rub her the wrong way and her anger is provoked. she can become bossy at such times and will be very critical of both her own work as well as others'. she can also hold a grudge for ages and doesn't like being in the wrong. however, her somewhat uptight personality lowers in less stressful times, in which her dry humour and playful side are revealed.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION.rin stands at about 5'7" and has a lean body. she has narrow shoulders and a slim waist, with long limbs in proportion to her torso. her skin clear and creamy. her face is not beautiful but is still pleasant to look at, with a sturdy and well-shaped jaw. her mouth is medium-sized and often either expressionless or quirked up in a sardonic smile. she has a firm chin and nose, and her aqua eyes are clear and alert. her hair is peachy in colour with a hint of pink, and it hangs mainly over her left shoulder, being lightly wavy there while more spiky and feathery on the right side.
as for clothing, rin wears a burgundy, sleeveless turtleneck under a beige, sleeveless jacket with a loose collar. the jacket has various straps and pockets for her pokéballs, as well as a belt that wraps around her body under her bust. she wears a dark tan skirt with a belt and a pair of navy fingerless gloves. her brown boots are tall, covering her calf and reaching just below her knees, and they are sturdy enough for traveling in. her bag of supplies is strapped onto her left thigh. she has a navel piercing.

HISTORY.
rin was born in the kanto region on may twelfth to her parents, kin and hiromi. she was raised in lavender town, which, despite its reputation as a spooky town haunted by evil spirits, was a calm and peaceful place. the people were gentle folk who lived quiet lives in admiration and love for pokémon. despite what many may think of her cynical attitude, rin was deeply influenced by such compassion. when she was young she attended services in the tower and prayed for the wellbeing of pokémon with her family. she grew up with a strong belief of the spirit of living things, a philosophy which she still takes to heart as she trains and cares for her own team.
this same mindset was what allowed rin to obtain her first pokémon at the age of eight. she was taking a walk with her mother, hiromi, along route eight when the two noticed soft cries of distress coming from the foliage on the side of the road. they went to investigate and found a vulpix kit with a broken leg, separated from its mother and in obvious pain. young rin was brokenhearted. she begged to be allowed to bring the vulpix home to care for it until its leg healed, and her mother agreed, saying that if they couldn't fix it properly it could always be taken to the lavender volunteer pokémon house for orphaned pokémon. in the end, however, the vulpix healed and rin's parents allowed her to keep it. the two became very close and were near inseparable.
with other humans, however, rin was a very shy child. she was soft-spoken and didn't feel comfortable playing with the children she didn't know. in her younger years she had other things to occupy herself with, such as puzzles, books, and doodling, but as she got older and social conventions began to demand more from her, she decided to mask her shyness. she became cool and aloof in an attempt to either get a few friends or just be left alone. she did become close to a couple people her age before she left lavender town, but her best friend was her younger sister akiko. the two got along very well and trusted each other greatly. one of the reasons that rin was hesitant about leaving was that she wanted to be able to stay behind and continue to look after akiko. due to her determination to excel at training pokémon, she decided that it would be best to leave her family and learn more about the different creatures.
when rin finally did leave lavender town, she was sixteen. she instantly fell in love with traveling, and because she is such an independent person, she found it easy to look after herself. the company of her pokémon team was also helpful and she became more grateful for them, transferring her elder-sister instincts to caring for them as they protected her. she first journeyed east to johto, but she only stayed for about six months before taking a boat to hoenn. she traveled through this new region for about a year. after various adventures, rin decided to move on, and she spend the next half a year in sinnoh. she still liked the pokémon she knew and loved from her childhood days in kanto, but it was still interesting to see the diversity of species throughout the various regions.

The floor was tilting back and forth, feeling like some large creature whose muscles were rippling beneath its skin. It was a gentle movement, but noticeable nonetheless, and some people riding the ferry looked a little worse for wear. They obviously weren't used to riding the waves on a boat. Either that, or they were simply prone to seasickness. Most other passengers seemed fine, however, and were chatting excitedly as they tried to pear at the glittering land of Issen, shielding their eyes as the sun reflected off of windows and the sea around them. A group was forming out on the deck, and some people even had cameras out to take a first shot of the region.
Gwenevere couldn't have cared less about getting a glimpse of Issen. After all, she was going to step onto its shores in a few minutes' time, when the ferry from Hoenn would dock at the port. At the moment, the frantic young women was searching for two of her missing Pokémon. Of course this would happen. How could it not? she thought as she raced down another hall. She was used to the movement of the ship now. The sea didn't bother her; she would have ridden a Pokémon to make things cheaper, if hers weren't all Electric-type and prone to accidently shocking her in water. The rocking movement still was a bit of a nuisance, though.
The two Pokémon that Gwen was looking for were Anghy and Minws, her twin Plusle and Minun pair who were known back home for causing mischief and mayhem. It had been too good to be true when they didn't act up for the length of the ferry ride, but of course they had picked the last few minutes to get into trouble. So she now had to race through the boat, searching for them. Her Luxray, Seren, was close behind, her bold blue and black colouring just a blur. Mell, her Raichu, was searching the lower decks. There was no telling where the curious pair had disappeared to.
Gwen's honey-blonde hair was bouncing around her face, even more frizzy than usual. Eyes flashing, she skidded past a few passengers before accidentally running into a man in a sailor uniform. Only Seren prevented her from toppling over. "I'm so sorry--" she stammered, composing herself. The burly man turned and stared down at her sternly. That was when Gwen noticed the two pink and blue marked Pokémon in his muscular arms.
"Oh..." she half-moaned, looking at them despairingly. Minws was staring back at her with glittering eyes, obviously having just finished some clever mission of his and not one bit ashamed to have done it. Anghy was more reserved, looking nervous about the disappointed expression on her trainer's face. The sailor glared at her. "Are these yours, miss?"
Gwen bit her lip. "Yes. I'm terribly sorry, I don't know how they could have escaped." She did, of course. They always found ways to escape. "I'm sorry if I've caused any trouble." Seren drew up to her full hight, standing loyally beside her trainer with a fierce look in her eyes and her fur bristling with static.
The sailor eyed the Luxray wearily. "Well, these two were found trying to get into the captain's control room. They haven't done any damage, but I'd appreciate it if they were kept in their Pokéballs," he grumbled, jaw firm. Gwenevere nodded, chin high, and took the twins out of the man's arms. Two Premier Balls were unclipped from her belt, one with a pink-painted top and the other with blue. The Plusle and Minun's, respectively. Clicking them open, the tiny troublemakers disappeared in a flash of light.
After thanking the sailor, Gwen returned to her seat to find Mell waiting for her. As they approached, the Raichu bounded up, all prepared to berate the younger twins, looking somewhat disappointed to see that they were safely in their Pokéballs. The young woman laughed. "Sit down, Mell," she chuckled, returning to her own seat as well. Now that her team was all ready, she could relax and enjoy the remainder of the ride without any worries.
"Attention all passengers. We have just arrived in the Issen region. Please head to your respective areas listen on your tickets to be checked and have your Pokémon inspected. Thank you."
