{ character info } GENERAL PERSONALITY. Ciro de Luca has the general disposition of, well, a teenager, or at least a stereotypical one. There is almost nothing he wants more than to sleep in until three in the afternoon, eat like a pig and not gain any weight, and then maybe get himself laid by a hot piece of…Never mind. The sixteen year old apprentice breeder suffers from what many would call a chronic case of lazy, and as such taking care off all the different Pokémon is a bit difficult until the late afternoon when he actually finally wakes up for the day.
Aside from that, Ciro is quite the pleasant young fellow, actually quite soft spoken and laughing or jovial. He quite enjoys his life and is pleased with how it is going now, but because of how it was before, he has a bit of pent up anger that still remains and sometimes leaks into his speech or his actions by way of an extreme use of sarcasm or some very colourful language…But hey, he’s sixteen and lives with an alcoholic and someone he simply thinks of as neurotic. What do you expect?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION. Ciro stands at about 5’3” or 5’5” depending on how much he’s slouching that day. He is very slim and appears to be underfed, probably weighing in at less than one hundred pounds. His hair is black and cut in a choppy, mid-length ‘style’ that usually falls into his dark purple eyes. He wears cat ears on his head, and for clothes he normally wears whatever seems most convenient for the day.

HISTORY. Ciro was born on a dark January morning, and within a few hours of his birth he was on the doorstep of an orphanage without even so much as a name, where he spent the first fourteen years of his line in misery. He was constantly teased for being the eldest child there, yet one of the smallest, and that nobody wanted him. He had attempted suicide once because he was sure that the other kids were right and that nobody would ever want to adopt a scrawny little fourteen year old that had a habit of wearing cat ears around just because he felt like it. Of course, it didn’t help much that when he was twelve he found out that he wasn’t interested in any of the girls at the orphanage like the couple friends he had once had did.
The very day of his fourteenth birthday he was told hat if he wanted to, he could go and live with a Pokémon breeder if he would learn the tricks of the trade, and as such he wouldn’t have to remain in the orphanage and take up unwanted space anymore. After his allotted reflection period (about ten minutes that he had been given after being told that it was more than enough time for a “boy like him to make his decision”. Whatever that meant) he decided that he would become the breeder’s apprentice, and that is where he has been ever since, doing everything possible to make sure that Maria was pleased with his work, even if it meant attempting to work through his laziness, which was often kind of difficult, but with a past such as his which had been completely and utterly miserable, he did what he could when he found what could be considered at least relative happiness.
He also got his first Pokémon last year which was a Meowth, who decidedly became his very best friend and he still dedicates time to just simply spend with her, wasting time. He tells Maria that it’s a bit of bonding because he doesn’t want to seem like a child, be he really loves Gia and tells her just about everything that he doesn’t want anybody else to know. She’s a very good listener.
Ciro’s life isn’t very far along yet, and he’s still learning about most everything, so people should be patient with him. He’s had a rough beginning and he’s hoping to be able to forget about that in the next couple years.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE. (From Ciro on UD!)
Ciro de Luca was absolutely positive that he had left his jacket out here. Where else could it have been? He could clearly remember looking up at the sun and then frowning down at his jacket, wondering what in all the name of bloody hell he had been thinking putting it on in this weather – or what the sun was thinking, being so warm when he was wearing a jacket. Stupid ball of flaming gas suspended in the sky, what did it think it was doing? Oh, how he loathed stupidity, hence why this situation was making him so angry. If his stupid jacket hadn’t have been so stupid as to get lost, he wouldn’t be here right now looking stupid as he tried to find it!
He shook his head in frustration, causing his cat ears to slide off of his head. He frowned deeply. They must be getting looser from being worn so much, because usually they could stay on his head for ages. He looked at the things in dismay before plucking them up off of the ground and opening the little compartment in the back. He opened his hand and allowed his box weapon to slide out of one, landing firmly in his palm, and his box animal to come tumbling out of the other. Giancinta’s box, however, missed his hand entirely and ended up landed on the nice, soft stone ground beneath his feet.
“Way to go, Gia, absolutely brilliant.” Ciro muttered under his breath before bending over to pick up the box, which was now shaking about irritably. He snatched her up quickly, before sitting down, leaning up against the wall, which was also made of stone. He rested his head against the unforgiving surface and brought the box up to eye level, sighing as he did so. “Sorry, calm down, you know I didn’t mean to drop you. Not like you really felt it anyway...Okay, fine, fine! You did, and it hurt! Oww, poor Gia!” The fifteen year old Varia member said hastily when the cat/jaguar within the box began to rattle it around again, almost causing Ciro to drop it for the second time.
The frown that had appeared on his lips moments ago had remained and he now found himself looking up towards the sky with the expression of someone who was expecting something quite awful to happen very, very soon. Of course, that was to be expected after having disappeared for about a month without a word of notice to anybody, especially not the boss, only to return now, once again without notice to anybody. Particularly not the boss. Oh, when she saw him again he knew that he would be facing her wrath the likes of which he couldn’t even comprehend yet. But soon enough he would know. He’d been preparing himself for it mentally, though perhaps he should have amped it up just a little bit, because this one would probably be a sight to behold. Something that could land anybody else in prison would simply give the boss a higher ranking.
He had come up with a set of rules for himself for when he faced Maria once again. Number one; don’t call her Maria. She was the boss and nothing but the boss. Number two; let her scream at him for as long as she needs to. Number three; during rule number two, do not complain. It will only make the aftermath worse. Number four; don’t cry. Crying shows weakness. Number five; suck it up and move on. It wouldn’t be the first time, and it probably wouldn’t be the last time. He was the kid of the Varia; of course he’d be the one that Maria would use for a punching bag. He had learned to accept it as a fact of life and move on…As much as he could when thinking thoughts such as those.
So now he sat there, leaning against the wall of the currently Varia headquarters, practically awaiting the ridicule he would receive from not only the boss, but the rest of the guardians too. It wasn’t enough that he knew that none of them thought that he was capable of doing his job, but now they would probably get a nice laugh of seeing what sort of a punishment that he would get for doing it. He had also learned long ago that it was really far too much to ask of the guardians for a bit of respect as the boss’s right-hand man, though that didn’t mean he didn’t yearn for it sometimes. Nothing really made you feel much less superior than being mocked by those who were beneath him. Hey, at least for once the cat ears weren’t on his head as they should have been, byforcerequest from Uncle Fran.
He looked down at Giancinta’s box once again before shrugging and igniting the flame on his ring and opening it, allowing Gia’s cat form out. She immediately jumped into his lap and rubbed her face all over him. Ciro couldn’t help but laugh a bit. “Hey, at least I know that somebody likes me, you know?” He smiled to himself and set to scratching behind the cat’s soft black ears. She set to purring and snuggling down into his lap, curling up in the way that he couldn’t help but find absolutely adorable.
“You’d swear you hadn’t just been resting in that box for a week!” He exclaimed, still stroking her soft fur. She simply purred a bit louder, not having a care in the world about what he thought, so long as he took care of her. If only the rest of the world were so easy to deal with… He thought, with just a hint of melancholy. It was a feeling that was quite familiar to him, melancholy. There was hardly a day that went by when he didn’t get a taste of that bitter sweet emotion, which was really quite ridiculous.
He hoped the other guardians wouldn’t come around too soon.
