All right! Since it hasn't been the first priority on my list, I've been a bit slow on Gym leaders and event battling. Thankfully, they only really opened this week, so. Yes. Event battling—since it determines who has the ability to battle with the Elite four out of our canon trainers, who wins what, and where the plot goes—will be chosen at random.
What does this mean? By using a random number program—think of it as the upgraded form of flip a coin—I'll generate results for event battles without bias. This puts everyone on equal playing field, and avoids all the mess of using a level system or having over-powered Pokémon win instantaneously. You can request your results in this thread, using the following format:
YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME - OPPONENT'S NAME - LINK TO THE THREAD IN WHICH BATTLE IS RPED
GYM LEADER/ELITE FOUR REQUESTS SHOULD BE DONE BY MEMBERS. ALL TOURNAMENTS WILL BE HANDLED PERSONALLY BY THE STAFF, AND INDIVIDUAL BATTLES BY THE RPERS. DO NOT REPLY HERE IF YOU ARE RPING ANY OF THE LATTER.
For those of you who are wondering if this system is unfair, know that I will never allow you to lose to one opponent in the same battle more than twice, and that this is partially to compensate for having no level system. I want everyone to have the chance to win, and it's more of a challenge if you can actually lose. As for those who feel that elements should have impact, I have a simple solution: if you do receive a losing verdict, just assume your Pokémon weren't strong enough to win regardless of element. It does happen. :''D
