Just runaway from these lies, back to yesterday *;;
Buna Town was one of the 'famous' towns here in the Matsunoki Region. Almost every street here has at least one type of gift shop. Arisu wasn't interested in collecting memorabilia, she has her brain to remember things for her. Plus, there was just no room in her beach bag-like for useless items such as snowglobes, although she did like them. However, the most famous thing about this town has to be the amazing view of the Karamatsu Ocean. She adored the salty and cool sea breeze the blew from time to time, although some of her pokemon didn't like it to much. Ari thought that this was just the perfect place to unwind and relax from a hard day of traveling. Sadly, her friend didn't give her a time to chill, immediately after she got here, Arisu's friend told her something. Knowing that Ari was a pokemon trainer, she told her of this gym and excitedly pushed her in the direction of the gym. That friend hoped to watch a pokemon battle between the two. She wouldn't let the female trainer do anything until there was a gym battle. Luckily, Ari convinced her to let her wait a day or two before challenging him/her. During those 2 days, all Arisu did was sleep the day away. Then when the day came, her friend dragged her out of bed and walked her towards the gym. She didn't let her have much time to prepare and the only thing Ari grabbed was her bag that contained her pokemon and several other items. About halfway through her friend suddenly disappeared. Ari knew that she had probably gone back to her house or went to go shopping. She paused in front of the Water Type Gym's doors. Arisu glanced inside her bag to check for all of the necessary items she would need for this battle. Her eyes then grew large with shock. All that she saw was her 6 pokemon balls and a note. Sliding her bag down from her shoulder to her elbow, Ari took her opposite hand and grabbed the note from the bag and began to read it. Right away, she noticed that it was her friend's hand writing due to its sloppiness. "Sorry for taking out all of your potions and status healers, I just know you can do this!" She angrily crumpled up the note and threw it in her bag. "That..Why can't she.." The trainer muttered angrily. Arisu sighed, then tried to calm herself down. No matter, at least she didn't steal my pokemon..Taking a big breath, she strode into the gym, through the double doored entrance. The humidity of the place was too high for her likes. There were deep blue ponds scattered across the field with few dirty, muddy rocks here and there. There was also a couple places with solid ground, although slightly muddy, but still ground. Of course, what did you expect for a Water Type Gym? Right now, she was standing on a tiled area, her worn out shoes had some dirt stuck in the soles from her traveling. As she stepped forward once, her shoes left a couple specks of dirt on the somewhat 'clean' looking floor. Arisu didn't like the gym layout, for several reasons. In a way, she was glad that it wasn't a big giant tank or something like that. Most of my pokemon will have a hard time trying to fight water pokemon hiding in there. Which was true, most of her team consisted of pokemon more suited to fighting an opponent that walked on the ground or flew in the air. But swimming pokemon, not so much. They had the advantage of hiding in the murky waters for shield and coverage. Arisu was gonna have a hard time winning this battle. With no potions and a team used to battling on solid ground, it means she would have to strategize carefully for this one. It would be hard for her to think of a plan in a couple of seconds while using her pokemon's strengths to attack hiding water types in the pond before a surprise attack. "Hello? I'm here to challenge the Gym Leader." Arisu shouted across the room from her end. She wanted to get this thing done quick and fast, the humidity of the place was getting to her a bit. notes;; i hate titles. ;p word count;; 725 pokemon/moves used;; none yet. Because after all those wings will take you up so high

There was dirt on her floor. She wasn't exactly known for being the most clean of the team, but...She had just finished cleaning it. Sighing slightly she shuffled forwards - behind the new arrival - tails sweeping away the first few specks before she reached out to touch the girl's leg. Noor stared at the girl long and hard for a moment before shuffling off towards the mud. She didn't know why she bothered, sometimes, after this it was only going to get muddy again. If not in the battle then with the people leaving. The Buizel shook her head as she reached the mudd, pausing before stepping carefully onto the wet surface. Ah. Khalil had been sliding. This was terrible. Asar would be most upset.
It was a little more humid in here than it had been, right? He'd sworn he'd put turned the temperature down...Oh well. Nothing would go too badly, he hoped. Still...Asar groaned slightly, pushing back his hair (the annoying thing it was). He almost wished he had some of those clip things. Still, duty called and he couldn't leave the poor soul waiting in this heat. It was a shock to most people, the humidity. They might have expected it from a jungle of a Grass Gym, but not here. He found it...comforting. More than comforting. Harsh. It made the training much more interesting and stretched the trainers to their limits. Too often it was left to the pokemon to do all the work. This put the trainer under pressure much more than the pokemon. They would realise that as well if they bothered to stop and think.
That was all the Gym was designed to do. Make trainers think. If they were going to make it they had to be able to use whatever they had to their advantage...True, it was mostly to his advantage in this place, but they'd have to get used to that as well. Slowly, almost timidly, he stepped through the door that joined his rooms and the Gym together. Right at the other end og the Gym to the girl who stood waiting, Noor halfway between them. He blinked. He had to admit, she wasn't what he'd been expecting from the shout.
"Hello," he called warmly, nodding. "Name's Asar Hasan, Gym Leader. May I ask the name of the challenger?" Of course he could. It was his Gym afterall. He looked a little more used to the humidity than she did. Chuckling softly to himself he waved to Noor, the Buizel stopping long enough to wave back. "Stay please, Noor." She nodded, stopping with hands grasped in front of her. She was almost like a maid sometimes. "I don't usually battle straight off, but...Time for a drink later, I suppose. Single battles only. No switching out a pokemon before it's defeated. No items used by either of us. Hold items are allowed though, if you have any. The winner is the one with pokemon left at the end of the battle - six pokemon each, yes?"
A little abrubt, he mused, maybe he should have been a little softer. She looked like she needed out of the heat quickly and he didn't blame her. "Noor will be my first pokemon." The Buizel nearly collapsed. Squeaking in excitement she shuffled - with a little bit of sliding for her problems, which earned a rather otter like scowl - to the space roughly half way between both humans, hands clasping again once she was there. With a nod she stopped, a little straighter, a little bolder than before. First. First pokemon! Even Khalil didn't go first sometimes! Her next thought was that Amina was going to be so upset, however, which was enough to dampen the Buizel's spirits.

Just runaway from these lies, back to yesterday *;;
She had felt something poke her leg and was slightly startled by the touch of a creature. Her amber eyes gazed down at the little pokemon that had just cleaned up the clump of dirt Ari had just left behind. "Hey there." she greeted the sea-otter like pokemon. Her tone was even, and friendly because she didn't want to scare her off in case it was an extremely bashful thing like her Bachuru. What was the name of it again? Ari had seen one before during her travels, but not many. It started with with a B, didn't it? Oh! It was a Buizel! That sounds right. As soon as she recalled the name of the species of pokemon it was, the Buizel had already scurried off towards a patch of mud, a young man had appeared through a door that apparently lead to another room somewhere. He looked older than she was, around his mid-twenties or so? The gym leader didn't look the like the type she would expect to lead an entire gym. The person she would imagine running a gym was older, and would look like he had tons of experience. However, there was no need to judge a book by its cover, especially if you haven't read the summary on the back. "Name's Asar Hasan, Gym Leader. May I ask the name of the challenger?"The man had spoke. Asar seemed like a nice person by the tone of his voice. Ah, Asar is his name is it? And my name? Oh, its.. "Arisu. My name is Arisu Fujiyoshi." He then had explained the rules of this battle briefly and clearly and Arisu responded with a nod to show that she was listening and agreed to the rules. It was a good thing that they can't use any items, other than hold items, especially since the trainer didn't have any on her. She had missed what Asar had said after that, but it seemed like he had already chosen his first pokemon for the battle. The Buizel that she had met earlier belonged to him and was ready to fight. She stood between them, and took on an adorable stance, folding her hands and standing up straight. Arisu took a single pokeball, then set her bag down on the tiled floor. I'm sure he wouldn't mind that, I mean I'm not making a mess right? The pokeball she took out was not like any ordinary one, instead of the usual red and white design, this one had a green and white one. On the front were 4 red dashes that reminded her of claw marks, and above the 4 red marks was a yellow circle. It was a Friend ball, specifically designed for making a pokemon, well, friendlier. The pokemon inside was a vicious one. She didn't know why he was so mean, perhaps it was something in his past that caused him to act this way towards everybody? Ari used it in hope that it would make the thing more nice, but it seemed like it didn't work on her Chompy. She pressed the center button that released the containing pokemon inside. "Come on out Chompy!" Ari shouted. A silhouette of a totodile formed from the beam of light, and soon there it was. He took one look at Noor and jeered at her, <Aww, is the little Buizel eager to please its trainer? How sweet.> Not long after he was called out, Chompy smiled menacingly at the poor Buizel. There were hints of bloodlust in his dark red eyes. The entire look was enough to frighten anybody, even Arisu's eyes had showed hints of fear towards her own pokemon, but it quickly disappeared after a second. She shook her head quickly to clear out any thoughts and focused on the battle. "Alright, use Water Gun!" <Only Water Gun? No big deal.> Chompy thought with a scoff. He opened his jaws as wide as he can, revealing a set of razor sharp teeth. A jet of water blasted out of the Totodile's mout and he aimed in the direction of the Asar's Noor. notes;; No worries, plus it isn't that late. Because after all those wings will take you up so high

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Fujiyoshi. Now we can begin!" No doubt she'd already figured that out. He smiled, though, all the same and stepped forward to the mud, quite used to the mess it made of his shoes and the squelch it produced. Nice. Really nice. Ground plus water equalled mud, he'd gotten used to the fact, but really, it was far from a perfect situation. It made a mess and even if it gave the interns something to do that kept them from over training and being under his feet it put people off. He'd designed it after taking over, it had seemed appropriate to change the style with the new leadership, but maybe the pool with floaty objects had been more practical. Certainly less tropical and they could swim in it on their days off. He needed a pool. He cleared his throat, metaphorically shaking off the distracting thoughts with the sound. He had a battle to fight and he needed to pay attention. Khalil was reliable, he usually did well without instruction, as did Amina; Farah did as she pleased half the time; but Noor...Noor wasn't exactly green, nor was she the most experienced of all his pokemon. He loved her to pieces, but she wasn't the strongest. She tried too hard, nothing seemed truly natural - she was stiff. It was his fault, he had to admit. Too many training sessions against pokemon she liked. it made her hold back. She didn't take it seriously enough, he supposed. Eagerness did not make up for a lack of talent. If only she'd realise this...he just didn't want to hurt her feelings. A water pokemon against a water pokemon? Well, niether of them had the advantage. perhaps it was for the experience, which was much more commendable than sorting out what type as most effective against the other. Or perhaps she just throught that, using the little crocodile pokemon, she could beat her way through anything that was in her path. Not so commendable. With the friend ball it had come from the latter wasn't likely. What sort of trainer who was only interested in brute force used a friend ball? Non at he'd met, at least. Even he didn't own a friend ball, pokeballs all across the board. He'd considered a lixery ball once or twice, but...Those things were expensive, and there was no point shoving up Amina's ego to a place it couldn't come down from. Pokeballs were dependable and they worked. Since his team was out most of the time as well it didn't truly matter. The little Totodile managed to shock Asar a little. Of all the things he'd seen...The set of his jaw changed, and eyebrow rose just a fraction, he started to pick at the skin of his thumb with a finger on the same hand...What had she done to that thing? Noor stiffed. Visibly. She was not used to this. Besides, he was being positively rude. <No,> she scoffed, trying to appear brave despite the shiver. <Trying to please a friend.> As if it was the most obvious thing in the world. She sniffed, unclasping her eyes to change her stance. One leg in front of the other. It helped her stay standing and with a water gun she needed it. But she was wating on her trainer. Asar paused, scanning his eyes over the two before shaking his head. "Shall we make it easier for him, Noor?" She hesitated. "Go on. Please?" That won her over. With practised but still hesitant steps she padded forwards, switching to a run as the water gun came closer and closer. That was their code for run straight into it. It was only water. Water shot at a high speed, though. It would make anyone flinch when it hit them. She did flinch. Her entire body shook as she tried to shoot past it. "Spray him! Now!" it was with some relief that she let the spray of water push her body over, using the force of the attack to let her kick her feet out and spray the mud under her feet in front of her. "Yes!" Noor practically glowed as she slid back in the mud. It was a tactic that generally caught people unaware. Not always but sometimes. Best to start off slow with Noor, he knew. "Quickly, now, sonic boom," he said, quickly himself. He couldn't help it. Scrambling in the mud (claws came out to dig into what little solid ground she could find) before she took off running towards him. Her tails were glowing before she'd even leapt into the air. One flip and a smack to the air and shockwaves were sent his way, Noor's expression smug as she managed to land with only a small slide backwards, crouched and ready. So close to a water hole that she was ready to slip into without instruction. The only thing that really kept her from doing that was the knowledge that Chompy would have the same advantage as her once she was down in the cold, dark depths. Your play, little crocodile, your play. [ SAND ATTACK & SONIC BOOM ]

Just runaway from these lies, back to yesterday *;;
Chompy had used water gun, but it had very little affect on Noor. Noor was also a water type, like he was and they were evenly matched. <No, we aren't evenly matched. It seems highly unlikely that a weak looking thing liker her would win. > The Totodile thought in his head. <Friend? Ha, if you are trying to please him, then I hope he is used to disappointment. > He scoffed with a harsh tone. He really didn't care if this buizel was doing it to please her master. In the end, she was going to lose to him. Chompy gave a subtle smile, half mocking Noor and her ways. Arisu saw the sea otter sprinting through the jet of water her little Chomps had blasted her. She didn't know what to think of this. Usually most trainers would try to dodge it, so that their pokemon would get as little damage as possible. Arisu then remembered that a water type attack won't be as effective on another water type pokemon than a fire type. Ah, how could I be so stupid? It has been awhile since my last battle. Even if it didn't do too much damage, it did do a little damage, which was a good thing no matter what. So, why did his Buizel charged through the Water Gun like that? Arisu thought to herself in confusion. Noor then had stopped, and sprayed mud all over her Chompy. Instinctively, she wanted to step back to avoid getting any mud on herself. The trainer managed to put her left foot back about a fourth of an inch. She would have taken another step back, if it weren't for the fact that there was no point in doing so. The splatter wasn't that powerful that it could reach her, but the mud did cover most of the front of the little blue crocodile. The water Gun had helped Noor execute the attack. Oh, so that was why you.. Mud splashed at him. He closed his eyes and put his to hands in front of his face, trying to shield himself. Of course, it didn't work and he ended up getting sprayed by mud. Chompy opened his eyes to see where the little weasel was, which wasn't such a good idea. A little mud got in his eyes, making it sting. He promptly shut his eyes again, but not before he saw Noor ready to make another move. The shook his entire body, even his tail to get rid of the mud. "Look out!" Arisu warned Chompy, but it was too late. The force of the shockwave surprised him, causing him to loose his balance and sent him flying backwards. He stopped as his back hit against a solid rock. Hearing the sound of her pokemon against the hard rock made her cringe. I hope he is alright. Wait.. a rock? An idea then formed in her mind. "Throw it at her!" Arisu was talking about the rock. In no way was Ari trying to crush the poor Buisel to death with the huge rock, she had another plan in mind, but she hoped her Chomps realized her plan. Her totodile then got up and tried to recover from the pain. She could tell that it had damaged him quite a bit. After hearing her command, his body was surrounded by a pretty blue aura. Chompy turned around to face the rock, it was about twice as big as he was and began to lift it. It was wedged in the ground fairly deep, but eventually he got it out and was holding it above him with superhuman strength. The Totodile threw it her with no hesitation, hoping it would hit. He ended up in a position that you would normally see pitchers have after throwing a baseball. The way he looked as he was holding the rock made her giggle. It looked so odd to see something as small as Chompy lift something so heavy like that. She could feel how badly he wanted the rock to hit her, and she knew what most likely would happen next. "Don't-", Arisu started to reach out towards the crocodile pokemon, but stopped. Her voice was cut off from an ear-splitting screech that emitted from him. Her hands covered her ears, the screeching was just too much. "Stop." Arisu commanded him. She had bet that the gym leader must have thought negatively about her now. She looked powerless for not being able to control her pokemon. She might look even worse for having such a mean and horrible Totodile, so bloodthirsty and vicious. The Totodile hoped that the sound made her flinch, and not be able to move out of the rock's path. The mean little crocodile smiled smugly to himself with satisfaction. He knew that it was against his trainer's wishes, but he couldn't help it. It was sorta like revenge for the Sonicboom attack. Besides, he wasn't gonna let her tell him what to do, it was gonna make him look weak. <Like the Buizel.> He thought. No way was he gonna be on the same level as her, just no way will he ever let that happen. notes;; I changed the icons. :3 word count;; 863 pokemon/moves used;; Totodile - Super Power & Screech [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Because after all those wings will take you up so high
So take a breath of mist and mystery and take to the sky
The first hit always made him relax. In that one moment he was fully aware of his strengths and weaknesses. It was like...How could he describe it? Why was he thinking of describing it? It was a fleeting thing. His next thought was always how he was going to win one over on them next time. Unless the pokemon relied too heavily on a trainer that didn't notice the little things, but more than likely the little crocodile would see it coming a mile away. It was why fighting pokemon was always so fun, even past all the hardship and the fights and the injuries. It was like chess only the adrenalin kick was much greater on the battle field. To know that you were smarter than your opponent...A trainer could get arrogant if they kept thinking like that. "Good, Noor," he breathed, fingers tapping a pattern on the arms he'd barely realised he'd crossed. Her move. Her pokemon didn't try to fight or move even with his eyes closed...What did that say about the pokemon? He dind't rely on his memories, perhaps, or he didn't rely on his trainer to guide him? So many questions. But he relied on his sight! That was a definite note to make and...And where had the rock come from? It was supposed to be clear ground! Asar mumbled a curse. Khalil. Khalil had gone and...Damn, damn, damn! This was definately not part of the plan! or part of any plan? When had he ever fought on terrain that wasn't smooth, which, looking at it now, might have been a big disadvantage. he had no idea what he would do with a rock, nevermind what she was planning to do with it. Noor flinched as soon as the words left her opponent's trainer's mouth. Th-throw it at her? Any rational person would have turned and fled but she just froze on the spot. They were trying to kill her! They were...Oh dear. Oh, oh dear. She squeaked, More scared as the pokemon began to glow blue than she had been when he'd glared at her so viciously before. What was she going to do? She didn't know what to do! If that was her reaction then Asar's was much worse. He didn't think she'd go through with it. Or at least she'd have her pokemon aim slightly to the side and then perform a different kind of move, but this...He had half a mind to call the fight off, refuse to fight her. More than that she did nothing. She didn't even call him back...He'd have allowed that, given the circumstances. "Noor -" It was flying towards her and she didn't know what to do - "Dive!" The screech made him flinch as well, gritting his teeth against the noise as his hand itched to mvoe towards the pokeball he kept at his waist. He was going to make Khalil pay for this if it hit. Noor shook and on muddy ground it wasn't the best of things to do. The screech simply put her over the edge and it was enough to make her slip. The hit to the ground must have done something to snap her back into reality and qith a squeal she'd slipped into the water. Not quite a dramatic dive, but it was certainly enough to get Asar breathing freely. He could think again, now. Would the Totodile follow? Or did the girl - Miss Fujiyoshi - want him where she could keep an eye on him? Either way Noor was free to find the perfect hole behind her opponent to attack from. "You're lucky, Miss," he said slowly, expression dissaproving as he watched her. "Very lucky for that not to have hit." Some trainers might have preferred to keep conversation out of things in battles but he didn't think so. A trainer had to work through distractions and if they wanted to try and distract him back it let them know that they could. He just felt he was making them focus that little bit more. Which was partly the reason for the words in the first place. If she got too caught up in what had happened she was going to hold back and loose (though maybe the Totodile did need holding back just a little bit...). [ DIVE (& A DODGE) ]

Just runaway from these lies, back to yesterday *;;
"You're lucky, Miss. Very lucky for that not to have hit."By now, her arms had dropped back to her side. Things were all going wrong for her. She hadn't planned for things to happen this way, it was all just wrong! What was I supposed to do? I can't just switch pokemon.. Ari didn't know how to reply to this. Her facade remained calm, although on the inside she felt ashamed, embarrassed, and angry. Her anger was directed at her Totodile. The trainer didn't know why she kept him after all this time, he had always been a troublesome one. Yet if Arisu did release Chompy back into the wild with all the other free pokemon, she would fear for all of the other pokemons' lives. But perhaps releasing him would make him happy and nicer? Arisu glanced at her Totodile, who was wondering what to do next. What am I going to do with you?The girl stopped thinking about whether or not she should keep Chompy and focused back on the battle. It was a good thing that Noor had dodge it by jumping in the water...Or was it? The crocodilian pokemon loved chasing things, after all every predator knows that the chase is the most fun out of anything. He intended to go after her, and started to head towards the one pond Noor had escaped his attack from. He was certain that Chomps wasn't going to let her get away with dodging an attack, or hurting him. Chompy's trainer realized what he was going to do. "Stop and take a rest, you've done enough for now." Arisu commanded him, hoping to equivocate. The trainer didn't want him to go after her, as there was no way to find out what was happening under the murky waters. All sorts of chaos could happen if he were to go in there. Heck, knowing Chompy, he'll probably go ape-shit and unleash a barrage of attacks on the poor thing mercilessly. What should I do know? She wasn't gonna switch him out, although she wanted to. But sadly it was against the rules. ...But why was it against the rules? She didn't see the harm in switching out pokemon before they fainted. With that order, the totodile stopped in its tracks. The little critter grumbled angrily at her and showed a small sign of defiance. The demand sounded silly to him. Why should he rest when he has enough energy to go after her right now? Chompy reluctantly sat down and rested. His head hanged over his feet and his tail curled slightly behind him. Sounds of slumber came from him, and it was obvious that he had fallen asleep. It was an adorable sight, and would make anyone go aw. All the ferocity it had shown before, somehow disappeared. The air also grew calmer, in a sense. Okay, now what? She had gave the command without thinking of what would happen next. The totodile would sleep for a few minutes, while gaining health and healing any type of status problem he may have. That was the bad thing though, the thing was completely asleep, leaving him vulnerable to any attacks Noor might unleash on him. Arisu wasn't good with things like this, she had been making it along as she went and it was a terrible habit to follow. Even if she did try to make a plan beforehand, things never go the way she thought. Arisu thought for a moment. Surely, most trainers would take advantage of this moment and attack him while in that state. It was just so hard trying to think of something. notes;; Hmm, I wonder where did that rock come from?
